Jade Rollers for Health, Wellness and Beauty

Ying Yu Jade introduced jade rollers to USA 20 years ago.  When I went to China in 1999 to learn Chinese medicine with my qigong group, we went to a Chinese medicine hospital for some lectures and experiences.   We learned that most Chinese people kept jade rollers in their "medicine cabinets" along with jade gua sha tools, pressure needles and herbal remedies.   We also had a tour of the hospital.   Each patient had these tools, jade rollers in their rooms, and they were used often.

Jade rollers are used to roll on your skin, usually in a downward motion.  Patients learned where their qi meridians were, and rolled over the meridians and acupuncture points to free "stuck qi" points, so their qi would flow smoothly and resolve health issues.  During the Mao Revolution, Chinese "barefoot doctors" roamed through the countryside and always carried jade rollers and gua sha tools as their medical tools.

I was very impressed with "real" Chinese medicine and returned every year for a long time, so I was able to meet the jade carver and learn how jade rollers were made.  Our jade carver uses genuine and natural jade that he purchases from the jade mine and makes them to Chinese medicine standards.  He made the classic double jade rollers, medium jade rollers with only the large roller, small rollers with only the small roller head.

I have had restless leg syndrome for many years, and getting treated in China was much more helpful than being treated in USA.  I didn't need prescription medicine that causes side effects.  The jade roller I use often is a larger roller with "needles" in the head.  It improves circulation as well as smooths the qi that is stuck and causes pain and frustrating movement.   I start the roller at my hips and slowly, mindfully roll towards my knees for awhile.  Then roll across knees, where there are acupoints that affect the pain, then from knees to ankles for a few minutes.  There are also acupoints in the bottom of the feet, so I use the roller on my feet for awhile.

Ying Yu Jade "Acu-Roller"
Jade has good qi energy, and the jade rollers are on of the best combinations of a treatment with the jade qi and the roller part.  Now they have become very popular for facial use, smoothing the skin, facial wrinkles, and improving blood flow.  But of course like all jade now, you have to be careful you are getting "real jade", not marble or glass rollers that are sold as "jade".

You can trust you are getting the best quality jade rollers on Ying Yu Jade.

How Jade Can Improve Your Life - What Kind of Jade is Best for Me

If you have a special piece of jade that you wear, you know how that can make you feel so good!   It makes what you're wearing look more pretty or handsome, and you can enjoy the compliments from others when they tell you how much they like your jade.

And jade can improve your life.  That's the main reason I still sell jade online.  And of course making income from selling anything improves your life, but jade is more "personal".   Jade has been known for centuries to have positive qi energy,  good for body, mind and spirit.

Here's my story for today.   A family member has been very ill for quite a long time, and I have been committed to helping improve the health.  This person does not "believe" in jade, but I do, and if it helps me, it helps him, too.  Today I was rushing around getting things organized and cleaning up, making meals, doing laundry,  indoor and outdoor work.  While stupidly trying to do three things at the same time, I fell holding a heavy object, and twisted my ankle and knee.  I immediately got my jade roller and jade gua sha tool to gently scrape the area to curb swelling and blood building up, and then roll over the area with the jade roller.  Then I sat for awhile with ice packs on ankle and knee, and help my jade acu-ring and moved it around my hands and fingers to relieve stress.  It's been about 12 hours now since the accident, and no swelling or pain.

My "everyday" special and cherished Burmese jadeite bangle bracelet
But the rest of the day was stressful and busy.  When I saw the sun setting, I went outside on the screened porch, played with my jade bangle bracelet to relieve stress and relax, and enjoyed the sunset.  My heart rate went back to normal and I felt peace and comfort inside.

I realized it was time to get our my jade "problem solvers".   They are clearance jade balls and eggs that have a number on each one.  I have a list of "chores" that need to be done, and match the number I put on the jade ball or egg to the number of the chore.  For example, if I pull out ball with number 2, the number 2 card is to clean out a drawer or shelf in a room.  This process helps me do tasks that need to be done without wasting time deciding what to do first.  I started this "jade numbers" task when I was using clearance jade eggs and ben wa balls to put in the soil around plants that are not doing well.

"Jade numbers" match chore numbers to determine what task I will do

I'm a busy person and friends often tell me to take more time off from working on my jade web sites.  But they don't understand that photographing, listing, touching the jade for awhile is very calming and relaxing, and makes me feel good.

And that's why when people ask "what kind of jade should I get" I tell them to look over the style you are interested in, and if you find an item you keep coming back to look at, it makes you smile, and maybe drool a little, then that jade has the right kind of energy for you.

Is My Jade Real? Are My Jade Rollers REAL Jade?

This online business keeps me busy.  Products to photograph and list, orders to fill, customers who have many questions.  One of the most common questions: "is my jade real?".

I also have a home and a husband, so that part of life is also time consuming.  And I have good friends and an active social life.

So I shop online a lot.

I used to buy most of my clothes, accessories, and many other things on Amazon Prime.  It used to be easy to return items, like clothes that don't fit the way you think they will.   On Amazon I could request a return and refund, print a USPS label that would make it easy to return because it's easy and free to schedule a USPS pick up.  Now Amazon only gives UPS labels, and you have to take the package to a UPS drop off or store, because UPS charges for pick up.

That's when I started shopping at Ross store,  usually weekly, because it's close to home, and convenient.  I discovered that the clothes, shoes and most household products like towels, rugs, cookware cost less than Amazon's and I could touch them, try them on, and then know what I am getting.

A few weeks ago when I was shopping in the body and hair supplies at Ross, I saw a jade roller.  It was only $6.99 and I was surprised because that's cheaper than what I pay for my jade rollers, plus shipping from China.  The box was sealed, so I couldn't examine it, and I bought it.  This is what I got:

"Jade" Roller purchased at Ross store

The picture on the box looked like a "real" jade roller.  But the actual roller was very different, the color darker and not "glowing" like jade.    I sent this photo to my associate in China who works with our jade carver.   This is what he sent me:

"Fake" jade rollers, made from marble

Genuine natural traditional Chinese jade rollers.  Moderately translucent,
with good qi energyPlease note photos taken by our jade carver in
China on mobile phone, not edited, so the "real thing" is much nicer than the photo shows.

Real Chinese jade is a light-to-medium green and moderately translucent.  Sometimes when there is a supply of really "good green" jade, the jade carver makes some for me as "something special".    Yes, these "fake jade rollers" are nice and green, and they work like a roller should, but if you are looking for the good qi energy of real jade for health and healing, you get that only from "real jade". And real jade, "China's Traditional Jade", does cost more than marble or fake.

When you purchase jade rollers from Ying Yu Jade or Jade Heaven, or  JadeRollersWholesale, you are guaranteed to receive traditional genuine and natural jade, the kind of jade used by Chinese medicine doctors and people in China for centuries.

Ying Yu Jade introduced jade rollers to USA in the 1990's.  We went to China to learn Chinese medicine, and discovered how popular jade rollers are.  Not only used by Chinese medicine doctors, but every household in China had jade rollers to help with smoothing the body's qi flow for health and wellness.  Not they are popular in the rest of the world not only for health and wellness, but also for beauty, relaxation and massage.
Ying Yu Jade wants to offer jade rollers for wholesale at the lowest price.  If we sell the jade rollers wholesale on the web site, the costs include shipping charges from China to Florida, USA, and then shipping charges to the person or company that buys them.
We now have a way to save you money on wholesale jade rollers order.
We made a web site that includes photos, prices and our associate in China contact information.  The prices are updated as the cost of jade and workmanship sometimes varies so we keep you up to date.  The prices are based on quantity.  You can then contact our associate in China to place your order.
If you want a sample of the jade rollers, you can order them from the Ying Yu Jade web site, Jade Rollers for Health and Beauty.

G&LW Wholesale Gem Jewelry Show 2019 - Buying and Selling Jade

The November G&LW Wholesale Gem Jewelry Show and Sale was this weekend in Orlando.  If you read previous posts, you know I have a tremendous supply of jade that I am pricing lower to get it sold and worn rather than sitting in a storage box.  I was hoping to find a few items from my favorite jade sellers, but determined to very picky and selective  about anything I purchased.

Only one of the five jade sellers I usually buy from were there at this show.  And the seller had very similar items I purchased last time, but the prices have almost tripled.  My customers like jadeite bead bracelets and I have purchased strings of beads 8-12 mm that are genuine and natural Burmese jadeite and have them made into bracelets.   That was disappointing, but them I realized that if he increased his prices, jade might be increasing in value and higher selling prices.

I wandered through the show and resisted the temptation to buy gemstones and jewelry for myself.  Halfway through the vendors, I stood back and partially closed my eyes to get a "feel" for the energy of the vendors.  It led me to a vendor who was selling metal bowls, the "singing bowls".  I have several and use them for meditation, absorbing the vibrations which are healing.  Of course they were so "modern" and didn't have all the variety of metal in them that the older ones do, but still a good sound.  I knew I have better at home.

So much has changed in the 20+ years I've been doing qigong, taiji, yoga, Reiki and it sure doesn't feel like "my world" anymore!

Then I saw a gem seller who had a small bangle holder with a few Burmese jadeite bangle bracelets on it.  I picked up the first one and knew right away it was not grade A because of the dull chime, and asked the price:  $3000   I told her that seemed a very high price for B or C grade jadeite, and she wanted to know how I knew it wasn't grade A.  I showed her the jade bangle I was wearing, and this Chinese woman then knew I knew what I was talking about.  She offered to sell it tome for $1500.  I smiled and walked away.

A few aisles over I again saw a Chinese woman with several of the bangle bars on her stand, and they were all grade A.  They were like the "Modern Jade" we sell, with certificates of Chinese gemology testing.  Her prices started at $500.  That's wholesale price.  It's traditional for sellers to make their price approximately three times what you paid for it.  You have the price you paid, the costs for photography, listing it and the costs of web sites, insurance, shipping,  advertising, and the costs you pay to accept credit cards, which means you also pay state taxes on the amount it is sold for,  which is close to the cost you paid.  So the profit is hopefully one third for the seller.

(When I'm having a "make an offer" sale, and have a jade that I list as $500,  and someone offers me $100, I cannot accept it because that doesn't even cover the cost of what I paid for it, so that's why your offer may be declined)

I didn't see anyone buying from her every time I checked back, but I would guess someone would want to buy a jade bangle for their personal use or as a gift, but not to re-sell.  I was very inspired talking with her and learning she uses the jadeite to draw buyers to her other gem and jewelry items.  And makes me wonder if I should continue to promote "make an offer" and continue lowering prices, because my Burmese jadeite bangle bracelets are as pretty, the "old mine" ones much more valuable. The reality is that I truly do want the jade I sell to be worn by someone who loves it, rather than sitting in a storage box.  The jade I sell is like an investment, will increase in value, but jade is more than about money:  it's the good qi energy and traditional of wearing jade.

How Much Should I Pay for Jade Bangle Bracelets, Pendants? How to Make an Offer.

Since early August I started a big jade project.  My home office, and actually my entire home is filled with boxes of jade!  And it was not the way I want my home to look.  So it was time to sort through  every box.  My office walls have metal shelves along the walls.  When I list a jade item, it gets a stock number and gets put into the proper box.  The boxes are mostly large shoe boxes because when they are filled they are still easy to manage and not too heavy (and another reason to treat myself to new shoes often!) Every space in the office is filled with boxes.  After I checked all the items on the web site and confirmed they are still available, then it was time to go through all the storage boxes of jade items not photographed and listed yet.

Yes, that is work but it sure is fun work!   It's very tempting to keep what I like for myself, but I have way too much "personal" jade, especially the jade bangle bracelets.  In the guest bedroom I have a wooden tall "jewelry box", and when that gets filled, I promised myself that I would not add more and stash it "somewhere else".

My personal jade bangle bracelets live in this

All this gorgeous, unique jade!  Instead of being in storage boxes, it should be on a wrist, on a necklace, used for health and wellness.  On Jade Heaven web site, there is a statement on the Sale page that states if you see jade you like, and really want it, you can make an offer for a price that feels good for you and fair for both of us.  I have accepted most of the offers, and negotiated with the customers for only a few items.  To make an offer, first set up an account with name and address.  Then send an email with your offer to us with the item number, brief description.  If accepted, we send you an invoice (the reason we need your account set up).  If the offer is too low, we will send you another price offer.  When I shopped for jade in China at jade markets, the sellers never had prices on their jade.  I asked the price, and then made an offer, and we bargained until we both agreed.  So the "make an offer" is a traditional way to buy jade.

On Ying Yu Jade, there's a Collection called "Ying Yu's Jewelry Box" that features jade I want to keep for myself, but decided it really does belong with someone who will wear it, not store it in my jade bangle bracelet cabinet.  The jade bangles in this Collection are bangles I bought for myself, but because I didn't try them on while I was bargaining (because I didn't want the seller to know how much I wanted it for myself!) and they really don't fit me well.   One of my favorites that I am parting with is a very vintage, probably made prior to the year 2000.  It's carved very detailed all around with dragons.  Very pale green, almost white, with some "hong" red veins in it.  It was not high polished probably to not damage the fabulous carving, and to look different, but excellent.  It's value is around $3000+ but listed very low because I'm so tempted to keep it.

Ying Yu's Jewelry Box #V1258Pale green Burmese jadeite with "hong" veins, carved with dragons

The jade I keep for myself is not only because it is beautiful.  There is often a story behind it, how I acquired it.  One that I wear most of the time was acquired from a Chinese woman I was sitting next to on a train in China.  She keep looking in my handbag whenever I opened it, and I finally showed her what I had.  She offered to trade her jade bangle for some of my personal items, and of course I was happy to do that.  I always think of that trip in China when I wear the bangle.

And you are welcome to "trade" your cash for my jade, making an offer you think is good for both of us.

What Kind of Jade Should I Wear? Hurricane Season

It's hurricane season here in Florida.  That's a reason I haven't posted on the blog in awhile. Even though we live in central Florida,  hurricanes do sometimes have a path right over us.  When we first moved here in 2004, six weeks later hurricane Charley, a category 4, flipped path that was toward Tampa to inland, and right over us.

Hurricane season also means we don't know when we will lose power. Because this is central Florida, whatever side of Florida the hurricane tracks, we get the edge of high winds, lots of rain.  And power outage.  That means no internet for the jade web sites.  I spent several days making a page I can upload fast that shows the jade store is closed until power goes back on.

There is so much to prepare for starting in early August.  I have so much jade in this house, and I need to keep it safe as possible.  I keep the jade that is listed in plastic or cardboard boxes that I can easily move and slide under the house if I need to.  That's a reason it takes awhile when someone asks questions about specific items.  It might be packed away.

My own personal jade is also packed for emergency evacuation.  Some of my jade bangle bracelets are valued at $10,000+   I love them for what they are, not just the value.

Hurricane season is savage, so I wear down to earth jade on my wrists during the hurricane months.  This year since the weather has been so crazy all over the world, I've been wearing jade for protection, and for good health.  I actually wear the bangle bracelet on my left wrist, and the bead bracelets on my right wrist, but I couldn't take a photo with my left hand, so I put them together:

The black jade bangle bracelet is Chinese jade, deep deep green almost black   "Two Dragons Hold Pearl" is symbolic protection.  Dragons are "yang" and protect.  Pearl is "yin", and craves protection.

Two Dragons Hold Pearl Carved Chinese Jade Bangle Bracelet

The elastic bead bracelet is genuine and natural Burmese jadeite beads.  They are all the different colors of jadeite: green (health and well being, related to liver meridian), white (related to lung meridian) "hong" orangish red (related to heart meridian, yellow (related to spleen meridian), deep green almost black (related to kidney meridian)

Burmese Jadeite Bead Bracelet

Jade has good qi energy when it's genuine and natural color.  And it works for me several ways.  Firstly, I feel good wearing jade, it makes me happy, content, and calm.  The "Two Dragons" bangle bracelet is enjoyable to touch and move around.  The bead bracelets together add balance to the right wrist.

How do I decide what kind of jade to wear during hurricane season?  The same way I wear jade all the other times.  I go through my jade collection, touch each piece, and when one feels "just right", I know that's the jade to wear.

What Kind of Jade Should I Buy?

I have been buying (and selling) jade for 20 years.  My first trip to China was with a group organized by my Qigong master in 1999.  And the first jade I saw that made me fall in love with it was a jade bangle bracelet on a flight attendant.

We went to Beijing, China to learn about qigong, qi healing, tai chi.  In the morning we got up early, before breakfast, and walked to Tiananman Square to do tai cha with the Chinese army people, and civilians in a nearby park.  Almost all of the women and some of the men were wearing jade bangle bracelets.   Then we went to a traditional Chinese medicine clinic and hospital to learn.  I had never seen jade health tools before: jade rollers, jade gua sha tools for scraping, jade acupressure rings and when I touched them, they felt so awesome, I could feel that qi energy.  I had migraine headaches at that time in my life, and when the doctor put a jade eye mask on my face, it felt wonderful and eased the tension.  So my top two "must have" jade items were jade roller, and jade facial mask.

Jade Acu-Roller

Jade Facial Mask

Jade Pillow Cover

The doctor who supervised our class told me I could return to get personalized treatment, and three months later when my qigong teacher went on a two week all around China tour, I went back to get healing from the doctor.  Since I wasn't with the group, I had time to wander around, and bought my first jade bangle bracelet.

And then every summer, I returned to China where I eventually met my jade carver and learned so much about jade that selling jade here in USA became my second job.

Now it's my only job.  And all the jade I bought over these years has been the kind of jade I personally like.  And every time I took some of the jade items I bought out of storage, I could not resist keeping many for myself.  Now I have quite a few jade items, "odds and ends" that I'm selling that are really difficult to part with, but I truly do need to downsize.

The jade carvings are difficult to part with because to keep them safe I have them on shelves in my office so I see them every day.  Here are some of my favorites:

Chinese jade 3-legged Money Toad
Dragon Protects Pearl Chinese Jade Round Carving

Jade Tea Pot and Cups Set, Usable Size

I need to take more photos of the jade teapot sets to show the actual "usable size", and more details, but then I won't want to sell them!

And of course there is all the Chinese jade and Burmese jadeite bangle bracelets, pendants, jewelry that I love and have blogged about.  And will continue to blog about the wonderful jade with qi energy for body, mind and spirit.  Check the former blog posts to see more jade that might give you a better idea about "what kind of jade should I buy".

Buy what you LOVE!

Jade for Body, Mind and Spirit: What is a Jade Mask?

This summer here in central Florida has been so very hot, humid and rainy.  Most days have been 90+ degrees, with "real feel" 100 degrees and higher.   And I love to be outdoors.  It's fun going to the pool and visiting with friends, cooling off in the water.  And the weather causes weeds to grow like crazy, so one of my goals is to pull 100 weeds every day.  Usually I pull quite a bit more than that.  Because no matter how many I pull, in a couple days it doesn't look like I pulled any at all!   I truly enjoy and love the plants, trees, bushes and work on keeping them look as nice as possible.

And I've been busy taking care of everything and everyone around me, I haven't been spending much time on myself.  I just don't look in the mirror so I won't get side tracked.

It's so easy to get dark circles under my eyes being in all this heat.  And I found something that helps keep the swelling down, reduce the darkness, and brighten my eyes.  It's a jade eye mask.

Ying Yu Jade Genuine and Natural Chinese Jade Face and Eye Mask
When I'm done doing my work, taking my evening walk at sunset, then taking a shower and getting cleaned up for the evening, I spend a few minutes laying down with a jade mask on my face, over my eyes.  It feels so wonderful!  The jade mask is calming, cooling, and the pressure seems to help with swelling and dark areas under my eyes.  The jade mask also relieves my sinuses.   I keep it on my bedside table so it's handy when I need a break from all the heat.

The jade masks are hand made.  Many small pieces of jade are attractively strung together, with small beads on the edges to make it move easily and feel comfortable.  I wipe it with a soft cloth with a tiny drop of Dawn lavender dishwasher soap, then dry it when I'm done using it.  Mine is still in good condition after several years.

And that's why I purchased them to sell online.   My jade carver makes them for me from genuine and natural Chinese jade he buys from the jade mine, then makes them very well.

Cool jade for this hot summer!   Jade masks are one of my favorites.

I also like rose quartz, so I purchased a rose quartz face and eye mask.  Rose quartz seems to "go good" with jade.  They are also cold.  And they have a slightly different energy feel, spiritual, romantic.   So I purchased a few of the rose quartz masks to sell online also.  They cost considerably more than jade, but now they are priced lower and when they sell out, I won't be getting more.

Stone masks for face and eyes: comfort for you that's easy to use when you want to use it.

What Kind of Jade Bangle Should I Wear? - Jade Bangle Bracelets for July

I have not had time to blog for most of June.  Busy helping people find the best jade bangle bracelet for wearing.  For some, it's their first time to wear a jade bangle bracelet.  They want a beautiful jade bangle, which the more pretty they are the higher the price, but not sure of their size.  And that really does make it difficult to decide.  So I promise to work with them to get the best jade bangle for them and their budget.  And that takes a lot of time, but I am so happy when we finally get "the one".   And some customers are jade bangle bracelet collectors.  They like to have a good selection because they are very mindful of the qi energy in jade, and since every moment in our life is different, they want to wear one that "goes with" their qi energy at the time.

July is usually a hot month, in the middle of summer.  I live in central Florida where it is warm most of the year, but really, really HOT in summer.  I love jade bangles with deep green veins, carved jade bangles with deep color, black and charcoal color jade bangle bracelets.  But they feel too "heavy" when the weather is hot.  80% of my jade bangle collection is "summer-y".   Although when I'm going out to dinner or an evening activity, I would exchange my "light" one for a darker and pretty one.

Light, white color jade has qi energy for cooling, serenity, peace, ease of life.  And translucence adds to the cooling feeling.

Burmese jadeite bangle bracelets for July would be translucent, so probably the "old mine" jadeite, mined and carved prior to the 2008 ban of importing jadeite that originates in Myanmar (Burma).  White, light green, lavender have good qi energy for July.  JHBB-3291 shown in the photo below is a good example.  The "glowing" quality comes from the translucence.  It's not "see through" translucent, which you should be wary of unless it's a high price because C grade jadeite is often bleached with acid to make it translucent, then color added.  C grade is still "real jade" but you should be aware that the color may change, fade or the acid work its way through to your wrist.

JHBB3291 "Bless Your Spirit" Glowing Burmese Jadeite Bangle Bracelet

Traditional Chinese jade is a very good choice for translucent and light green color.  These are the kind of jade bangles people in China wore for centuries, until Burmese jadeite was introduced in the 19th century.  When I went to China for jade shopping, I noticed that the Chinese people were buying Chinese jade in jade shops, while tourists were looking for the Burmese jadeite.  I truly love the green translucent Chinese jade bangles, and especially love the carved ones, like the NJCARV-19 jade bangles and others in the Ying Yu Jade Traditional Chinese Jade Bangle Bracelets Collection.

If you love collecting and wearing a variety of jade bangle bracelets, these are some suggestions for what kind of jade to wear in July.

What Kind of Jade Bangle Bracelet Should I Wear? Get a Good Collection!

If you have only one jade bangle that you own and wear,  it is probably a very special, meaningful, and possibly valuable piece of jade.  But if you have only one jade bangle bracelet, maybe you wish you had more, and shop for jade bangles often.

And if you have a family member who keeps track of every dollar you spend, it can be difficult to find a good reason to have a "collection" of jade bangle bracelets.

But keep in mind:  jade is "medicine" for you.  Jade has qi energy.  And the colors of jade are related to the meridians in your body.  White = lungs.   Green = liver   Black = kidneys   Yellow = spleen.
Red or "hong" = heart.

This past week has been a very sentimental, joyous, and busy week.  We ate out often, and ate a lot more of foods we usually don't eat, but it was delicious, so of course we splurged.  Yesterday I helped a friend who manages a small boutique and had a fashion show.  I announce the the models and the outfits, and she asked me to wear a dress that was sort of tie dyed: tan blending into green blending into lavender.  I had the urge to "feel" through my jade bangle bracelet collection, and pulled out a jade bangle I had not worn for a long time.  I put it on my wrist while I was getting ready for my task, and even though I know jade is "medicine", I was surprised how much better I felt.  The leftovers I ate for lunch had upset my stomach.  The heat of the day was wearing me down.  But after about 20 minutes with this jade bangle bracelet, I felt much more energetic, and didn't have to be concerned about getting hiccups while I was announcing.

"Honey" color reddish-yellow color with qi energy for spleen and heart
A few green veins for qi energy liver (body-mind-spirit)

Reverse side of jade bangle bracelet is white, qi energy related to lung meridian
Peace, coolness, spiritual

And of course everyone thought it was gorgeous!  I am still wearing it today.

If you decide you want a "collection" of a variety of jade bangle bracelets for your "jade medicine box", let me know while you are shopping.  It can get expensive buying genuine and natural Burmese jadeite and Chinese jade.  But I want you to have a "good collection" and will give you discounts for getting yours.   There is contact email address on each of our web sites.

Get you jade bangle bracelets while you can.  Our "old mine" Burmese jadeite bangles are the best quality, have the best qi energy, and will increase in value over time because that kind of jade is rarely available now.  The jade bangle bracelet "with certificates of gemology testing" are newer jade, but eventually they will be "vintage", also.

Have fun shopping!  But have even more fun wearing jade bangle bracelets that "feel right" for you.

Gem Trade Show Update: Where's the Real Genuine Jade?

The G&LW Gem show was this weekend, and I went the first day because some of the vendors from China bring real jade they show me first before they add it to their sales.  I have learned from jade shopping in China to not buy everything at the first shopping stop because jade is stone, stone is heavy, and carrying all that jade around requires strength!  But this time as I made my "walk through" to check out everything before I started purchasing, I had a feeling there wouldn't be much good jade for sale.  Only two of the vendors had Burmese jadeite, and only beads.

The seller I purchased from loved my jade bangle bracelet that I was wearing.  She said she'd trade me the entire inventory for it!

My personal Burmese jade bangle bracelet I wore to gem show
Genuine natural grade A Burmese jadeite, at least 20 years old

I put the jade beads in my car, then returned to wander around the show.  Metal "singing bowls" were quite popular.  I have "old" metal singing bowls, and know how "good ones" should sound.  A few of them had the good sound and vibration, but most were "average" quality, made from one metal.
Lots of beads for sale everywhere.   Pearls seemed to be in all the bead sellers displays.  And pearl prices have increased for the real pearls, but the artificial pearls were pretty and looked real.  The vendor who was selling the "fake jade" rollers was there again.  He was selling the popular rose quartz rollers, too, and told me the price was so low because they were glass, not "real" quartz.  When I asked about his "Chinese jade" pendants, he asked me to wait a minute, then added a sign:

"Peking Glass Pendants" that are sold as "jade"

I didn't find any other jade or gemstones I wanted to purchase, so it was a short trade show for me.  I didn't even buy something special for myself, which I usually do.

Sometimes people who are looking at my jade web sites ask me why the prices are "so high".  I could sell "Peking Glass" pendants for a much lower price than "real" Chinese jade pendants.

When you shop Ying Yu Jade, Jade Bangle Bracelets, and Jade Heaven, you get "real" jade, and you get what you pay for.  There are some jade sellers in China who are constantly looking at my jade collections and tell me they charge higher prices than I do, in China and Hong Kong.

And if you see something jade your really like, you can contact me to make an offer, so you can "shop like you're at a jade market in China".

Jade Necklaces Calm My Spirit, Keep Me Positive and Creative

We took a short trip to Ohio and Pennsylvania last weekend.  Flight arrived Friday, went to Pittsburgh Saturday, back to Ohio for family reunion Sunday, and flew home again Monday.  I wore my deep deep green almost black Chinese jade bangle bracelet for protection on the "other" wrist, not my left wrist where I wear my all-the-time jade bangle bracelet.

Carved deep green almost black Chinese jade bangle bracelet with qi energy for protection
Everything went smoothly, so the protection worked.  I was more concerned about getting ill because of the measles epidemic, all the germs around the airline, airport, and people we met.  No sickness, so I still believe "black" jade protects.

I had several Burmese jadeite necklaces on adjustable silk cords I intended to take and wear, but forgot.  I sure did miss them.  This one is one of my favorites.

My "Mei" Beautiful "Double Flowers" jadeite necklace on adjustable silk cord
When I go into my home office to start the work day, I put it on.  A smile comes on my face right away because it's so pretty.  It has good qi energy for keeping me calm, positive and creative.  And the white color of the flower has qi energy for compassion,  very helpful for "customer service".  Today a customer notified me that her parcel had not arrived, the USPS tracking showed it spent too many days here in Florida before being "on its way", and it would arrive, but late.  The tracking actually did not show any progress, and the customer is concerned.  I told her of our policy that if a parcel gets lost during delivery, we file a claim (but most of the time it is truly lost...forever!)  and while I file the for the insurance if lost (which there is always an excuse from USPS about why it's not covered by the insurance)  I give her a store credit so she can use what she paid for a replacement.

That's just one of the problems of small online business, losing something in shipment.  So I use the jade in the office to help keep my positive and compassionate while I work.

Jade is not only "medicine" for the body, but also for mind and spirit.

What Kind of Jade Should I Wear for Yin and Yang Balance

The previous post showed photos of the Burmese jadeite bangle bracelet I was wearing at the time.  I was doing my usual sorting of jade inventory and wondered why I was keeping that one for myself.  It was very pale (yin) and didn't look very interesting until I started handling it, put it on my wrist.  It was about 2 mm smaller than the size I usually wear so it was very difficult to get over my wrist, and then it was "stuck".   That's why I wore it for awhile.  And that's why I took photos of it on my wrist.

After the blog post, I got an offer from from a long time customer who wears the same size I do.  She is a "jade sister" because if I'm reluctant to sell a jade bangle, my size, that I really love, if it's going to a customer who is a "jade sister" (same size, long time customer) I am happy to know it will go to a wrist and will be worn.

She was looking for comfort in her life, and the soft yin colors, hues of lavender, appealed to her. Lavender is rare as a natural jade color, and has spiritual qi energy (yin).

I took it off my wrist, cleaned it up and got it ready to ship.  But couldn't go more than a few minutes without having a jade bangle bracelet on my wrist.  I went to my "favorites" drawer  with no idea about what I was looking for.  I "felt around" and pulled out this one:

I purchased this jade bangle bracelet during a shopping trip in China in 2005 when I went near the Burma border and shopped directly from the jade carvers so I could view their jadeite rough to help me determine that they were genuine and natural, and bargained with the seller to purchase a quantity.  I never put one I intend to buy for me personally because I don't want the sell to know how much I want it and charge me a higher price.  This one is actually quite small, also, and difficult to get on but fits close to the wrist.  The color is a combination of dark green (yang) and lighter green (yin) so it's a good qi balance.  Because the previous jade bangle was the soft yin color, after wearing this for a few hours I felt more energy in my body, mind and spirit.

That's what "yin and yang" is all about.  Do you need peace, comfort, soft healing in your life?  Choose "yin".   If you need more energy, assertiveness, at a time in your life when you need to take risks to get ahead, choose "yang".

An example:  if you have chronic pain, you probably need gentleness in your life, but you also need some extra energy to get through your day (your life!).  So a yin and yang balance is helpful to you.

Another example:  if you are going through menopause, or an illness that takes time to get better,  mostly light color "yin" with some "yang" deeper color may be helpful.

The "jade sister" who read the previous blog told me she often looks at the jade on our web sites as "comfort".  She knows she will be attracted to the jade that has the qi energy that she needs at the time.

That's why I have a large collection of jade bangle bracelets for myself.  Every day, every week, month is different and I need the right qi energy from my jade as "medicine" to benefit me.

Wearing "jade as medicine" is certainly a good reason to buy more jade!

How Should I Wear My Jade Bangle Bracelet? Here's Some Everyday Tips for Wearing Jade Bangle Bracelets

I haven't blogged recently because I have been going through the jade inventory I have at my home so I can decide if it's time to bring in more.  While I'm checking out what I have available, I have been consolidating what I can to store it more compactly.  And I have noticed some photos of jade listed need to be re-taken because the older photos don't use the same improved camera and editing technology.

If you read this blog, you know that I can't resist keeping some for myself!   I have "so many"  I can't wear all of them, and I do go through those periodically to get some of my smaller size jade bangles listed, instead of sitting untouched in a storage box.   I came across one that I couldn't think about why I would want to keep it for myself because it seemed so bland and uninteresting.  It is "old mine" Burmese jadeite, that I purchased during my shopping trip to China in 2002 near the Burma border, directly from the jade carver.

I put it on my wrist.

And it was about 3mm smaller than I usually wear, and I couldn't get it off, even with the "plastic bag" technique.

So I wore it.  And as I wore it, I noticed how it started to get that "glow" that your good jade gets when you wear it:  the jade qi energy and your qi energy working together.   Then I noticed some apple green veins become more obvious, and the "glow" showed some hues of lavender.  That's why I kept it!

The apple green, almost imperial green vein in my jade bangle bracelet

Hues of lavender that became more obvious as I wore this jade bangle that is very small for me
It's been almost two weeks since I have had it on my wrist, and now that my wrist is not swollen from all the pressure of putting on an very small jade bangle bracelet, I had to acknowledge that the smallest jade bangle you can get on your wrist is actually the best one to wear.  When I make dinner at home, I almost always make a salad.  That requires chopping with a big sharp knife on my chopping board.  This "tiny" jade bangle stayed on my wrist, didn't "clunk" down to the chopping board, and not "clunking around" is the main reason wearing your smallest size will help keep your jade bangle from breaking.  Hitting your jade bangle on something hard is the reason I hear the most for why it breaks.

And since it's small on my arm, it doesn't ride up and get in the way when I'm doing reaching activity. Another way to avoid "clunking around".

Here are some tips for choosing and wearing your jade bangle bracelet.

1.  Choose the jade bangle bracelet that attracts you the most, the one you keep coming back to look at.  Maybe you even drool a little when you look at it.  That means it has good qi energy for you.

2. Wear the smallest size you can get on your wrist.  The web site has videos about finding your jade bangle bracelet size.

3.  I often get asked: what wrist should I wear my jade bangle on?   It is traditional to wear jade on your left wrist because your left arm is closest to your heart.  And wearing your jade bangle on your non-dominant wrist means it will get less activity, less chance for breaking.  If you are left handed, make the choice about which wrist to wear it based on the tradition of wearing it left and close to your heart, and how active you are and your risk of it clunking around on your left dominant wrist.

4.  If you are wearing the smallest size you can get on, and keep it on a long time, you will probably keep it clean because you wear it when you bathe.  Just polish it with a soft towel or cloth, and that will remove debris, oils, etc.

5.  A risk of wearing the smallest bangle you can get on your wrist is that when you do remove it, be very careful about that.  Yanking it off can cause it to fly away from you and land on a hard surface,  and crack or break.  My office is carpeted, and I sit on the floor when I am working with jade, especially my own jade bangle bracelets.

Hope that helps you decide "how to wear my jade bangle bracelet".

A "Best Jade" and Why I Love My Jade Acu-Roller

If you read previous blog posts, you learned that I fell in love with the the first time I had contact with it.  Jade is not only beautiful, it also has good qi energy.  And I'm very attracted to qi energy.
(Quick simple definition of qi energy: "life force", or "energy flow".   Qi is the basic of Chinese medicine.

And I only buy and sell jade that I personally use and appreciation.

This morning when I was finishing my taiji (tai chi) form, and closing the form with smoothing the qi through my body, I was amazed to actually feel the qi flow through me.  It felt like light tingles,  very spiritual and healing.  Prior to doing my taiji and yoga practices, I do some qigong exercises to unblock qi in my body as best I can.  Blocked qi is what causes medical problems, pain according to Chinese medicine.  And that makes taiji, and yoga, more beneficial to do.

One of my favorite jade pieces is the Chinese jade acu-roller.

Ying Yu Jade Acu-Roller for smoothing your body qi flow

The jade roller part has tiny "needles" carved into it.  When you roll it over your body, it helps smooth out your body qi.  It also improves blood circulation.  I start on my upper body, roll it downwards on my arms, chest and back, then hips and legs.  Even if I didn't do the taiji and yoga afterwards, I would feel much better, refreshed.  The rolling takes only a few minutes, and you can do it as short or long as you want to.  (I have seen people selling these acu-rollers for facial use, but never use this jade acu-roller on your face, as it can damage your skin and small blood vessels because the face is so delicate.   Use a smooth jade roller instead.)

I keep this on my night stand by the bed, and when I wake up feeling sore and very tired I can use it for a few minutes to start feeling better.

I had the good experience of meeting with my jade carver in China when I was with my Chinese doctor friend.  We worked with the jade carving about using very good quality of Chinese jade he would purchase directly from the jade mine.  Then he carved them to high standards.  I sell these often to Chinese medicine practitioners here in the USA, as well as individuals who prefer natural health and wellness treatments.

A favorite of mine for years!
